Are you getting frustrated with how much time your children or grandchildren spend time on their phone or games, worry about their mental health or maybe yours!! 😊 But seriously creativity in children and adults helps to reduce anxiety, depression and even dementia in adults.

Get crafty with your daughter/son, or granddaughter/son and get thinking about ways to recycle textiles for practical things around the home. To start with we are making Beeswax Food Wraps and having a Women’s Clothes Swap

At the end of the workshops for May, we will be having a Women’s Clothes Swap. So be sure to bring 3 to 5 nice, clean garments and take home a ‘new’ outfit. Please note these should nice & clean. (A token will be given for each good piece you bring, so this can be claimed later at other workshops)

Tea, coffee, fruit cordial or water will be given after the workshop and before the clothes swap.

Please bring your own mug if you can remember.

(Please note 10 people minimum needed for a class to commence, a refund will be given, and we will endeavour to advice you as soon as possible)

COST:
Per workshop $30, or special $20 each, the month of May, when you bring family or a friend: take home 4 to 6, Beeswax Food Wraps. Please make payment through PayID to Sarah on 0401 030 255 and text your name of attendees, age, and date of workshop. The cut-off date to book is 4 days before the workshop, so for Saturday 11th May workshop the cut off is Tuesday 7th May. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE 8 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE

WHERE:
Quantin Binnah Community Centre, 61 Thames Boulevard, Werribee,

WHO:
The program is being run under the name ‘Pat and Jeans Place’ (my deceased auntie and mum’s name, who were a bit crafty 😊)
For any questions and for PayID please text or call Sarah on 0401 030 255 Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm.

WHY:
1. Mental health and creativity for all and helping towards the entrepreneur spirit.
2. There is a massive problem of about 200,000 tonnes of textile waste going to landfill every year in Australia. These workshops are here to get us thinking, how we can reuse those textiles around the home for things that will also reduce the plastic we use as well as save us money. A win, win! For those parents & children interested to continue making more, if of acceptable quality, they can also be sold on the Pat and Jeans Place market stalls and later website.
