Council defines community gardens as an area of land tended by a group of people to grow edible and non-edible plants. They are community led and not-for-profit.
Council is supportive of community gardens because they bring people together, allow people to share skills and learn new ones, offer people a chance to grow and enjoy fresh produce and can contribute to a healthier environment.
