Short Training Sessions

Wyndham City offers free business training on a range of topics such as digital marketing, search engine optimisation, starting a business and tax requirements.  These training sessions range from one hour to 2.5 hours long and are all currently held online.

Voluntary Business Training Providers Program - Expression of Interest

Wyndham City is keen to receive expressions of interest from local businesses interested in becoming voluntary training providers.

Expressions of interest for a business training topic of your choice will be considered.

There are a number of benefits for service providers in voluntarily providing their time and delivering a training session. These include;

  • Acknowledgement and promotion as the training provider by Wyndham City Council
  • Opportunity to promote their business and business capabilities at the end of the training session (maximum 5 minutes)
  • Opportunity to display flyers and business cards during the session
  • A summary of evaluation feedback (de-identified) by Wyndham City Council will be provided to the training provider.

BUSINESS VICTORIA

Business Victoria workshops are designed for Victorian-based businesses and are currently delivered for free online via Zoom.  Topics include starting your business, building resilience, marketing, finance, taking your business online and business planning.

Another free opportunity through the Victorian Government is the Upskill My Business program.   This program includes short courses, online events and resources from the state’s top education providers and industry experts.  Topics include: Accounting & Finance, Analytics, Business Basics, Business Recovery, Communication, Customer Expectations, Export, HR, Innovation, Leadership, Marketing, Retail, Sales, Sustainability & Technology.

MELBOURNE INNOVATION CENTRE

The Melbourne Innovation Centre offers a low cost, high-quality, digital advisory services for small businesses  For a package fee of $44, eligible businesses can access mentoring, workshops, webinars, and online courses.

AUSTRALIAN TAXATION OFFICE

The Australian Taxation Office offers a range of free webinars.  Topics include starting a business, running a home-based business, tax essentials and record-keeping.
