Short Training Sessions

Wyndham City offers free business training on a range of topics such as digital marketing, search engine optimisation, starting a business and tax requirements.  These training sessions range from one hour to 2.5 hours long and are all currently held online.

Business Growth Program: Innovate to Regenerate 2021 

In 2021, Wyndham City will be running a three-month free business development program called Innovate to Regenerate.  This program aims to assist businesses grow their business and re-emerge from the current difficult operating conditions as strongly as possible. 

We are particularly keen to support those businesses that were in growth mode before the pandemic and now see the opportunity to turn the current, challenging circumstances into a commercial opportunity and to their business advantage.

Ten local businesses will be selected to participate in the program which will be held from March to May 2021.  The program consists of six online group sessions plus 20 hours of one-to-one online business coaching per business.

Business Victoria workshops are designed for Victorian-based businesses and are currently delivered for free online via Zoom.  Topics include starting your business, building resilience, marketing, finance, taking your business online and business planning.

Another free opportunity through the Victorian Government is the Upskill My Business program.   This program includes short courses, online events and resources from the state’s top education providers and industry experts.  Topics include: Accounting & Finance, Analytics, Business Basics, Business Recovery, Communication, Customer Expectations, Export, HR, Innovation, Leadership, Marketing, Retail, Sales, Sustainability & Technology.


The Melbourne Innovation Centre is contracted by the government to offer a range of training opportunities and low-cost business mentoring ($25 for two hours) through their two programs:

Business Resilience Program

The Business Reslience Program is designed to assist small businesses suffering the impacts of COVID-19.  Support includes free access to online workshops.  Topics include strategy and resilience, finance and technology, customers and marketing, human resources and mental health and wellbeing.

Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS) Digital Solutions Program

This program offers a range of free online workshops that focus on areas such as: websites and selling online, social media and digital marketing, small business software tools and online privacy and security.

The Australian Taxation Office offers a range of free webinars.  Topics include starting a business, running a home-based business, tax essentials and record-keeping.
