As a person with hearing loss, Rachel experiences the world with heightened attention to visual detail and emotional nuance, which she channels into her work. Through a diverse array of pieces spanning sketchbooks, watercolour notebooks, and larger canvases, she shares her therapeutic journey of overcoming challenges through art. Utilising watercolours, inks, gouache, and charcoal, each piece captures moments of reflection and emotional depth.

Rachel's affinity for intricate linework, rendered with micro pens, offers a meditative experience, echoing the soothing rhythm of her creative process. From intimate A6 sketches to expansive A2 canvases, her artworks on watercolour and field paper reveal a progression in scale and technique, highlighting her evolving artistic journey. Journey to Discovery encourages viewers to delve into the layered emotions and transformative power embedded in each brushstroke, inviting them to share in Rachel's exploration of self-discovery, sensory perception, and resilience.

Rachel C Stock is an architectural draftsperson who turned to art as a means of supporting her mental health and navigating the world as a person with hearing loss. She finds peace and presence through the fluid elegance of Chinese brush painting, the meditative flow of Neurographica and Zentangle, and the intricate balance of Celtic knots and mandalas. For Rachel, even simple doodling becomes a tool for mindfulness and emotional release. Her hearing loss informs a deeply introspective practice, where silence becomes a space for clarity, sensitivity, and inner dialogue. Art has become her therapeutic outlet—a space to process challenges, explore creativity, and cultivate calm. Her work reflects a personal journey of growth, healing, and the quiet joy found in the act of making.
