As part of Kathleen's solo exhibition, In Reverence, she pays tribute to the region’s rivers, grasslands, skies, and critically endangered species, encouraging viewers to recognise the beauty and urgency of protecting these habitats. Her intricate, often colourful style highlights animals under threat from predators such as cats and foxes, as well as from ongoing land clearing in Melbourne’s west.

Kathleen sees the world through a lens of minute detail, with a style that is both surreal and expressionist. Deeply inspired by nature and the unseen forces that shape it, her work feels organic and fluid—without clear beginning or end—inviting personal reflection and quiet contemplation. Across ink, fine liner and gouache, her deep admiration for native flora and fauna is ever-present, expressing a profound connection to the natural world.
