Mia Shaw

Iramoo Ward Councillor, Mia Shaw, is serving her second term on Council, having been first elected in 2016.

Cr Shaw also served as Mayor for the 2018/19 term. A working parent with an eight-year-old son, Gus, Cr Shaw’s family has been a part of the Wyndham Community for more than 100 years.

Her Great Grandfather, William Shaw, was the Shire President on three occasions between 1917 and 1946.

Shaws Road and the Shaws Road Bridge were named in honour of his commitment to the local community.

Cr Shaw has a Graduate Diploma (Public Relations) from RMIT and a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from Deakin University. She has also completed and graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors course, which provides a comprehensive grounding in the roles and duties of board directors.

Cr Shaw is Council’s Future Focused Economy portfolio holder, which focuses on developing strategies and policies that focus on employment, attracting new industries to Wyndham, and developing businesses.
