This FREE two-day course is designed to train adults to support young people with their mental health and to refer to appropriate professional support.
The training will cover how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a young person developing a mental health problem, if they are experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or if they are in a mental health crisis and how to apply the Youth Mental Health First Aid action plan to support them.
Two Accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructors from Youth Services will be co-delivering this training and welcome parents, school staff, sports coaches and adults in the community to attend.
Upon completion of this training, participants will have the opportunity to take an online assessment which will then accredit them as Youth Mental Health First Aiders, qualifying them to use the knowledge and skills they have learnt and put them into practice when supporting a young person.
