Get ready to once again be captivated by the magic of the FIREFLY Night Market that will be held on 24 June in Tarneit.

This free family friendly event is a great opportunity to support local, featuring more than 70 market stalls from local makers and artisans. Enjoy a full stage program of cultural performances or explore the glowing art installations and mystical roving characters.

Event goers will be able to indulge in scrumptious bites and authentic cultural treats from a selection of food trucks or escape the crowds and chill out in the chai tent with an aromatic brew.

Wyndham City Mayor Councillor Susan McIntyre said that the event was embraced by the community when it was first held last year.

“It was described as a ‘wonderful winter night that was filled with warm smiles from children and families’. It’s expected to be bigger and better this year with more space for an expanded program of events,” she said.

“Many of the stallholders and performers will be locals, and we encourage families to put the date in their calendar, to support them while enjoying a fantastic community event.”

Applications are now open for stallholders. Local makers, artisans, designers, growers and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply to become stallholders. Priority is given to those who live or have a connection to Tarneit.

This includes: Wickford Road being closed between Penrose Promenade to Tarneit Road from 3pm to 9:30pm.  Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and Bus route 167 will continue to service the bus stop outside the shopping centre.

The FIREFLY Night Market is part of the Meet me in Tarneit series of events funded through the Tarneit Suburban Revitalisation Program in partnership with the Victorian Government and endorsed by the Tarneit Revitalisation Board.

The Tarneit Revitalisation Program champions projects to create a Tarneit that is cherished by locals for its active public spaces, a vibrant civic heart and expanding business ecosystem.
