Wyndham City is calling for feedback on the Draft Accessibility and Inclusion Plan 2023-2025, to create opportunities for those with a disability to thrive, be healthy, safe and have opportunities for leadership in Wyndham.

This draft plan builds on Council’s previous Accessibility Action Plan 2019-2022. It is also shaped by community consultation, including feedback from those with lived experience with a disability, and from those who are part of the Wyndham Disability Services Network.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre, said that the draft plan’s pillars provide broad scope to assist Council in working towards achieving positive outcomes for people with a disability in Wyndham.

“We are seeking community feedback on the draft Plan and its outcomes,” she said.

“In developing Wyndham City’s Draft Accessibility and Inclusion Plan 2023-2025 we’ve also paid close attention to the Australian and Victorian Governments’ Plans; Australia's Disability Strategy 2021–2031 and Inclusive Victoria 2022-2026.”

Wyndham City Councillor Adele Hegedich, the Healthy City portfolio holder said: “I’m proud that this Draft Accessibility and Inclusion Plan takes a holistic view, working towards priorities that include better informed community attitudes, and better education and employment opportunities for people living with disability in Wyndham.”

“We also want to see improved outcomes in housing, health, wellbeing and opportunities for leadership,” she said.
