Harrison Ward Councillor Adele Hegedich is serving her third term as Councillor at Wyndham Council and has been elected Mayor for 2020/21. She previously served from 2009-2016 and served as Mayor for the Council in 2015/16.
Cr Hegedich has actively volunteered in the social justice community for many years, including within the community legal centre sector and mentoring young adults.
Throughout her time as a Wyndham Councillor, she represented Council on a range of committees including the Wyndham Council Audit and Risk Committee, Australian Local Government Women's Association, Community Grants Evaluation Panel, Glen Orden Reserve Pavilion Redevelopment, Quantin Binah Community Centre and Youth Task Force Committee. As Mayor, Cr Hegedich was selected for the Local Government Minister’s Advisory Panel.
Cr Hegedich is a lawyer, businesswoman and long-time Wyndham resident. Since 2016, Cr Hegedich has mentored other councillors (through the ALGWA Mentor program), volunteered for the Rotary Club of Wyndham Harbour, where she is also a Board member, she is the chairperson for the Corozon Centre Inc and is currently a Stewardship Councillor for a Kildare’s Ministries school.
During her free time Cr Hegedich enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and cooking.
Cr Hegedich is Council’s Healthy City portfolio holder, which is working to implement initiatives, programs and services that create a better, healthier place for all residents, regardless of their age, gender, cultural background, or socio-economic status.
