About the presenter:
 

Andrea Rowe is an award-winning children’s author.

Her picture book Jetty Jumping (Hardie Grant) won the 2022 Children’s Book Council of Australia, Picture Book of the Year for Early childhood and the 2023 Australian Speech Pathology Book of the Year.  And In the Rockpools (Hardie Grant) has been awarded a 2024 CBCA Notable Picture Book of the Year – Early Childhood.

Sunday Skating was released in June 2023 in Australia and USA there’s more on the way. Her writing features in the Teacher, Teacher anthology with Affirm Press.

Andrea has been awarded the 2024 May Gibbs Literature Trust Fellowship and the Mary Wilson Fellowship for her commitment to environmental writing. She is the winner of the 2020 Hal Porter Short Story Award, Highly Commended for the 2022 Newcastle Short Story Award and the 2023 Mulga Bill Award.

A passionate advocate for contemporary Australian literature, Andrea’s the ‘author-in-conversation’ host with Sorrento’s Antipodes Books, the Founding President of Peninsula Writers’ Club, and Founded the Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor’s Short Story Writing Award.

Andrea lives on the Mornington Peninsula and grew up in Werribee.
