Take a moment to slow down this summer and listen in.

River Whispers, the latest addition to Art’s and Culture podcast series; reveals stories and sounds from the Werribee River.

Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud said: “Wyndham Arts & Culture have released a suite of audio tours that enable you to experience Wyndham over summer. Bring your walking shoes, smartphone and headphones to get inspired with art as your guide.”

“There are self-guided audio tours, podcasts and sounds to unwind and relax to. There is something to interest everyone.”

A QR code will take audiences into a soundscape where they will hear from local custodians of the river, residents and local artists and the significance of the Werribee River and the important place it holds in local community.

Created by sound artist Patrick Cronin, River Whispers weaves interviews, environmental recordings and music into a rich tapestry of peoples’ stories, music and the mesmerising sounds of this natural environment.

River Whispers is best experienced in the vicinity of the Werribee River.

“So, over the summer months, get out and about an explore the Werribee Public Art Walking Tour and find out about the background and meaning behind Werribee City Centre’s street art,” Cr Mahfoud said.

“There are seven fantastic public art works to visit, starting at the Wyndham Cultural Centre and finishing at Kelly Park.”
