Wyndham City is pleased to announce that the construction tender for the Rushford Lane and R1 road reconstruction project has been successfully awarded, with works to commence in late February/early March 2024.

The reconstruction will be carried out across three stages to minimise disruptions to the community, with the Road R1 to be completed in one stage.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera, said the works will positively impact the surrounding businesses and improve daily use of the lane.

“The Rushford Lane and R1 road reconstruction shows our commitment to improving our local roads and better servicing our community,” Cr Barrera said.

“Council’s unwavering commitment to upgrading and maintaining our local roads is a testament to our dedication to the wellbeing of our community. By investing in these essential infrastructure projects, we are not just repairing our roads, we are building pathways to safer, more connected communities.”

“Enhancing local roads remains a top focus in Wyndham City’s 2023/24 budget. This year, we’re allocating $8.4 million to reconstruct 12 roads across our community.”
