Access to safe and clean toilets is a drawcard for visitors to Wyndham City’s wonderful network of parks and open spaces, as it enables families to travel further and stay longer, boosting a sense of wellbeing.

Wyndham City will be adding four new toilets to its network of parks and open spaces and is inviting feedback on concept plans.

The new toilets will be located at Conquest Drive Park, Werribee; Loyola Road Park, Werribee; Principal Drive Park, Wyndham Vale and Delaney Boulevard Park, Williams Landing.

These parks were identified as locations for public toilets as part of Wyndham City’s Public Toilet Policy which aims to provide safe, clean and accessible toilets across reserves and open spaces.

Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Jennie Barrera, said the existing distribution of public toilets across Wyndham is not equitable with gaps in our network, meaning that Council receives about 12 requests for new public toilets annually.

“We adopted the new Public Toilet Policy earlier this year to address the gaps in providing public toilets across Wyndham and I’m pleased to see that we’re already rolling out concept designs for the installation of new toilets,” she said.

“To achieve the vision set out in Plan Melbourne for liveable neighbourhoods, facilities such as public toilets must be available in our open space network.”

“Council has mapped current toilet facilities, identified issues with their provision and management, and developed an Implementation Framework - this result being a destination-based approach to providing public toilets.”
