Your personal information is being collected by Council for entry to the WYNnovation Pitch Competition.  Your personal information will be used and disclosed by Council to members of the WYNnovation Pitch Competition judging panel and facilitators 25eight and the Startup Network.  By entering the competition, you agree to the collection, use, disclosure and publication of your personal information as stated in the competition Terms and Conditions. Declaration
  1. This competition is run by Wyndham City Council in the state of Victoria, Australia only.
  2. By entering this competition, you and your group members (if applicable) agree to accept these terms and conditions of entry.  If your entry does not comply with these conditions, it will not be valid and will not be accepted.
  3. Entry is restricted to persons aged 16 years and above who live, study or own a business in Wyndham, or whose business has at least 50 percent of its client or user base (actual or projected) in Wyndham .  Council staff, councillors, 25Eight staff, the Startup Network staff and their immediate family members, and winners from previous years’ WYNnovation Pitch competitions are not eligible to enter.
  4. If you are entering as part of a group, the group may have a maximum of 3 members and you must have the consent of each group member to include them in the entry and that they agree to accept these terms and conditions of entry.
  5. Entrants aged under 18 years must have their parent/guardian’s consent to enter the competition.
  6. You acknowledge that Council may contact the group members and/or the parent/guardians specified in your entry form (as applicable) at any time to confirm that the relevant consent has been provided.
  7. To enter the competition, entrants must submit a properly completed entry form containing their entry at www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/wynnovation between 9:00am on 18 March 2024 and 5:00pm on 19 April 2024.  Entries which are incomplete or received outside of this period will not be accepted.
  8. If the entrant submits a written entry, the entrant must adhere to the word limits specified in the entry form.
  9. Entrants may submit a video entry instead of, or in addition to their written entry.  This video must be uploaded and submitted with the entrant’s entry form and must be in avi, mov or mp4 format and no larger than 5mb in file size.
  10. Entrants may submit up to two additional documents with their written entry.
  11. Entrants may only submit a maximum of one entry to the competition.
  12. Entries must be the entrant’s own original work and must not contain any objectionable, profane, insulting, inflammatory or defamatory material, or infringe a third party’s intellectual property rights.
  13. Where an entry contains works or material in which intellectual property rights subsist, the entrant must, on Council’s request, provide evidence that the entrant has the right to use the works or material.
  14. Judging will commence on 22 April 2024 by a judging panel consisting of one staff member from 25Eight, one from the Startup Network and two Council officers.  Up to 15 entrants will be shortlisted by the judging panel to participate in the Pitch Training Masterclass and Informal Pitch (conversational) sessions.  Shortlisted entrants will be contacted by Council on 25 April 2024.
  15. The Pitch Training Masterclass and Informal Pitch (conversational) will be held at SPARK Wyndham Innovation Hub, 600 Sneydes Road, Werribee 3030 at the date and time set out below.  Shortlisted entrants must be able to attend both sessions.

  1. At the end of the Informal Pitch session on 3 May 2024, the session facilitators from 25Eight will select up to 5 Grand Finalists. 
  2. Grand Finalists will be required to attend one 30 minute 1 on 1 mentoring session between 6 and 16 May 2024,  at a time and location to be agreed.
  3. Grand Finalists will be required to present their business pitch at the WYNnovation Pitch Competition Grand Final to be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on 17 May 2024 at Werribee Park Mansion, Gate 2, K Road, Werribee South VIC 3030.  
  4. Following presentation of the business pitches at the Grand Final, three competition winners will be chosen to receive the corresponding prize listed below (total prize pool valued at $38,900 (excl. GST)).  The judging panel will determine the First Prize and Runner Up winners and the 5 finalists will determine the Peer Choice prize winner.

Competition winners acknowledge and agree that the acceptance of a SPARK membership requires them to enter into a licence with Council, and that terms and conditions apply to Start Up Network memberships and the redemption of AWS credits.  Refer to Amazon’s website and the Start Up Network’s website for further information in this regard.
  2. The competition winners will be announced at WYNnovation Pitch Competition Grand Final and their names will be published on Council’s website and social media pages on the same day.  Winners consent to the publication of their name on Council’s website and social media pages.
  3. If a prize has not been claimed by 31 May 2024 the winner will be deemed to have surrendered the prize and Council may opt to conduct further judging to award the unclaimed prize.
  4. Entrants acknowledge and agree that they retain the copyright in their entry.
  5. Entrants acknowledge and agree that they enter this competition at their own risk.
  6. Entrants must indemnify and hold harmless Council, its councillors, employees, agents and contractors against all costs, claims and liability arising in connection with this competition including, but not limited to, a breach or potential breach of these terms and conditions.
  7. Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, corrupt or invalid entries.
  8. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.
  9. Council may, acting in its entire discretion, require winners to provide evidence of their identity, age and/or proof that they live, study or own a business in Wyndham.
  10. Entrants acknowledge and agree that the interactive workshop sessions and WYNnovation Pitch Competition Grand Final dates and times are subject to change.
  11. If for any reason, the competition cannot be run as planned, Council reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
  12. Council reserves the right to change or modify these conditions at any time.
  13. Council’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
