Lawrie Emmins Reserve is an existing open space reserve located in the north-east corner of the municipality.

The Master Plan sets a long-term vision for the development of the reserve. The vision includes improvement to formal sport, provision of active recreation opportunities as well as a two-wheel cycling hub.

The Lawrie Emmins Reserve Master Plan will guide the potential future development of the reserve. A range of open space facilities are proposed to create a space where people can engage in healthy activity and come together as a community.

Gateway and Youth Precinct

The first stage of implementation is the Gateway and Youth Precinct, with work to commence in early 2024.

These works will deliver a skate park, sports courts, open lawn for events, BBQ and picnic facilities, shade and seating, a toilet block, car parking, landscaping and other amenities.

This $4.2 million project includes a $1.5 million Growing Suburbs Fund grant from the Victorian Government.

The space will provide the local community with a space to gather and, in particular, offer a space for young people to participate in a range of active recreation opportunities.
