VICTORIA UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING DAY

Since 2022, VU has planted over 12,500 trees at our Werribee Campus, an initiative funded and supported by the Victorian Government’s More Trees for a Cooler, Greener West program which aims to plant 500,000 trees to increase tree canopy coverage in Melbourne's western suburbs. 

Together, we aim to reduce urban temperatures, combat air pollution and enhance community health.  The trees we’re planting also help make VU’s campuses and spaces more welcoming, resilient and sustainable. This year the trees we’re planting are sourced from Wadawurrung nursery and Newport nursery.

Everyone is welcome to join! So, whether you’re a student, a staff member, from a partner organisation, or live in the local community, join us for a fun couple of hours where we’ll do our bit in greening the west!
