Privacy statement

Your and your child’s personal information is being collected by Council for the purpose of enabling your child to enter the Library Drawing Competition and will be used in the administration of the competition as stated in the Library Drawing Competition Terms and Conditions.  Your and your child’s information will be stored in Council’s Customer Database and used to identify you and/or your child when communicating with Council and for the delivery of services and information. Your and your child’s personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014. Parent/guardian’s details:
  1. This competition is run by Wyndham City Council in the state of Victoria, Australia only.
     
  2. By submitting an entry to this competition on behalf of your child, you:

         a) confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian (‘parent’);

        b) consent to your child entering this competition; and

        c) accept these terms and conditions of entry.

  1. Entries which do not comply with these terms and conditions will not be valid and will not be accepted.
     
  2. Entrants must be aged between 5 and 12 and be a Wyndham City Libraries member.  Council staff, Councillors and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
     
  3. The competition starts at 9:00am on 20 February 2023 and ends at 5:00pm on 31 March 2023 (‘competition period’).  Entries received outside of this period will not be accepted.
     
  4. To enter the competition, during the competition period, you must either:

         a) upload an image of your child’s completed drawing and submit a properly completed online entry form via Council’s website; or

         b) submit your child’s completed drawing and properly completed hard copy entry form at a Wyndham City Libraries branch during opening hours.

  1. Entries must:

       a) meet the competition theme of numbers;

       b) be drawn on plain, A4 sized paper;

       c) be your child’s own original work; and

       d) not contain any offensive or inappropriate material, or infringe a third party’s intellectual property rights.

Council reserves the right to exclude from entry any entries which in its reasonable opinion breaches this condition.

  1. Only one entry per entrant will be accepted.  Entries will not be returned at the end of the competition.
     
  2. The competition will be judged on 5 April 20232023 by Council staff.  Two winners will be chosen from each age group (5-8 and 9-12).  Each winner will receive a signed junior book chosen by Council staff and a Pop Vinyl figurine, valued at $35.  The total prize pool is valued at $140.
     
  3. The parent of each competition winner will be contacted by telephone on 5 April 2023.  Winners may subsequently be announced on Council’s website and the Libraries in Wyndham Facebook page.
     
  4. If a winner’s parent cannot be contacted by 5:00pm on 19 April 2023, Council may opt to conduct further judging to determine a new winner.
     
  5. If a prize has not been claimed by 5:00pm on 3 May 2023, the winner will be deemed to have surrendered the prize and Council may opt to conduct further judging to award the unclaimed prize.
     
  6. Council may require a winner’s parent to provide evidence of the winner’s identity and/or that are a member of Wyndham City Libraries.  If there is a dispute as to the identity of a winner, Council reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to determine the identity of a winner.
     
  7. You grant Council a perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free licence to:

         a) display your child’s entry, in whole or in part, at any Wyndham City Libraries branch, whether in hard copy or on the branch’s TV display screens; and

        b) publish, cause to be published or otherwise use your child’s entry in whole or in part:

          (i) on Council’s website and social media pages, including but not limited to the Libraries in Wyndham Facebook page; and
          (ii) in a picture book to be published containing entries from the 2023 Library Drawing Competition, for the purpose of promoting the Library Drawing Competition.

  1. You acknowledge and agree that your child’s name and age may be published in connection with the announcement of the competition winners and/or the publication of their entry.
     
  2. You must indemnify and hold harmless Council, its councillors and employees against all claims arising in connection with a breach or potential breach of these terms and conditions.
     
  3. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
     
  4. Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, invalid or corrupt entries.
     
  5. If for any reason the competition cannot be run as planned, Council reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition and/or amend these terms and conditions at any time.
     
  6. Council’s decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
