Wyndham City is excited to announce [At Home] Wyndham, a free three-day arts collaborative project created by Common Collective that transforms an existing, free-standing ‘real home’ in Wyndham into a large-scale public art installation including exhibitions, community activations, events, screenings with a full program of talks and programs exploring the notion of home.

[At Home] Wyndham project runs from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 December.

[At Home] Wyndham is the first iteration of an ongoing project exploring the idea of home through the creation of site-based, architectural interventions using homes around the world. Delving into the use of domestic space and its unique position in the Australian psyche.

Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder, Marcel Mahfoud said: “[At Home] Wyndham explores different perspectives and ideas on the theme of home and challenges and encourages the sharing of stories and experiences of home.”

“This unique project, a first in Wyndham transforms a house into a collaborative arts project.”

The project features over 12 local artists and creatives alongside invited collaborators. Each artist will individually and collectively respond to the experience of home and the built environment, in the form of parties, photography, film, talks and research.

[At Home] Wyndham is created by Common Collective, with the support of Wyndham City, Creative Australia, Creative Victoria and the Alastair Swayn Foundation. It was produced in partnership with Scoundrel Projects.

Founded in 2022, Common Collective is a multidisciplinary creative collective which uses both artistic and organisational frameworks to deliver collaborative projects, with an informal curatorial advisory board and a fluid membership model.

Common Collectives membership includes Ian Strange, Jedda Andrews, Simon Robinson, Steve Mintern, Mashaka Gunnulson, Dr. Mathan Ratinam, Emma Pegrum, and Miriam McGarry.

This iteration of [AT HOME] was also created in collaboration with Scoundrel Projects, Matt Roberts, Dr. Rory Hyde, and Damien Laing, alongside the local community.
