The Mercy Mental Health Team are multidisciplinary teams which provide treatment for consumers which aims to improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness.

The teams are committed to providing high quality, individualised evidence based care in partnership with consumers, families, carers and other services. The teams are committed to recovery based care, and are responsive to the changing demographics of the community they serve.

The Community Integrated Mental Health Teams consist of social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses and medical professionals.

The Community Integrated Mental Health Teams provide non-urgent assessment, treatment, case management and support services to people with a mental illness. The length of time case management services are provided to a person varies according to clinical need.

Services include:

  • Education regarding mental illness, treatment options, and management of medication including side effects
  • Social skills training and improving quality of life with collaborative goal planning with consumers and carers
  • Addressing holistic health needs in collaboration with private providers including general practitioners
  • Specialist clinicians including drug and alcohol, eating disorders and gender sensitivity
  • Primary Care Partnership (PCP) clinicians provide assessment and treatment recommendations 
  • Homeless Outreach Psychiatric (HOPS) clinicians provide specialist input for consumers who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness
