This exhibition brings together sixteen illustrated maps that celebrate the diverse landscapes, waterways, and landmarks of Wyndham. Each map offers a detailed and imaginative glimpse into a different locality — from the tidal edges of Point Cook Marine Park and the sweeping bends of the Werribee River course, to the dramatic rise of the K Road Cliffs and the calm, curated beauty of the State Rose Garden.
Artist Bio
A professional illustrator with a long-standing practice in children’s books, botanical art, and natural history, Rita presents a new body of work born from the quiet discoveries of the Covid era. During this time, regular walks with a friend became a catalyst for deeper exploration — a search for places of interest close to home that unfolded into an unexpected epiphany.
They realised that Wyndham, so often overlooked, is in fact extraordinary: a region shaped by diverse landscapes, rich ecological pockets, and compelling natural landmarks. These sixteen illustrated maps are a celebration of that revelation.
