Have you ever struggled with the book club commitment? Moving at a pace that doesn't work with your other priorities?

✨️ Then maybe our slow book club's version 2.0 "chapter and chai" might be for you? The same good vibes that book clubs offer, an opportunity to read something achievable, reflect and meet other like-minded people in community... and the difference? Just read one or two stories.

Our first gathering is being held on Monday 4 August at 9.30 AM outside Soulful Spreads Cafe at Tarneit Community Learning Centre, 150 Sunset Blvd, Tarneit. $5 gets us a hot cup of chai (or coffee) and snacks to gather around.

📚 We'll be highlighting our takeaways from reading Dr. Anita Heiss' Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia. A grounding book to begin this journey with. Aligned to National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day. To be led by First Nations stories and their lived experiences.

We encourage you to read at least the first two stories before attending. The book is available for purchase (which we would encourage if its possible for you as it supports First Nations literature). It's also available at Wyndham Libraries to borrow as a printed copy or as an e-book via Borrow Box. Please get in touch with us if accessing the book is a barrier.
