Wyndham City is embarking on an exciting expansion of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve. This $11 million project, which is being delivered in stages, aims to enhance the facilities and services available to the Point Cook community.

Stage 1A:

  • Scope: Construction of a third kindergarten room, redevelopment of staff accommodation, redevelopment of the maternal and child health consulting rooms, and construction of a new entrance and reception area.

  • Progress: We are currently installing the structural steel and timber framework, with the roof set to be installed by the end of May. This stage is expected to be completed by mid-2024, after which the community will be able to access the centre through the new entrance.

Stage 1B:

  • Scope: Construction of a new multipurpose community meeting space and community kitchen.
  • Progress: These works are projected to commence in mid-2024.

Stage 2*:

  • Scope: Development of a compact sports venue and outdoor sports courts.
  • *Note: Stage 2 of the Master Plan is contingent on funding as outlined in the Long-Term Financial Plan.

This expansion aligns with the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve Master Plan, which the Council adopted in April 2022. The project aims to create a modern, fit-for-purpose facility that better meets the needs of the growing Point Cook community, with an overall completion forecast for 2026.
