Do you enjoy writing stories or poems? The Imagination Creation Writing Competition is back for 2026, with prizes for the best stories and poems in each age group!
We’re also hosting writing workshops with award-wining authors Coral Vass, Elizabeth Fensham, Lucinda Gifford and Lili Wilkinson to help you get started. (See full details at the bottom of this page!)
Young writers aged 5-18 who live or study in Victoria can enter our writing competition. You can submit up to one poem and one short story.
The categories are:
- Ages 5-10 Story
- Ages 5-10 Poetry
- Ages 11-14 Story
- Ages 11-14 Poetry
- Ages 15-18 Story
- Ages 15-18 Poetry
The competition runs from Tuesday 7 April to Wednesday 15 July.
