Wyndham City is undertaking a $13.5 million duplication of Tarneit Road between Sayers Road and Leakes Road in Tarneit, giving drivers two lanes in each direction and upgraded intersections.
The full scope of the project includes:
- Duplicating Tarneit Road between Sayers Road and Leakes Road to two lanes in each direction with a central median strip
- Upgrading all four existing signalised intersections to a duplicated arrangement
- Upgrading existing pedestrian and cycling linkages and facilities
This section of Tarneit Road currently carries approximately 18,500 vehicles each day. These works will help improve road safety for drivers and pedestrians and reduce traffic congestion in the area.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2023, with all works expected to be complete by late 2024.
