Wyndham City proposes to redevelop the existing sports pavilion at Saltwater Reserve, Point Cook, a key community sporting precinct home to the Point Cook Football Club, Point Cook Cricket Club, Point Cook Soccer Club, and Dane Nebel’s Tennis Academy.
The project proposes the partial demolition and upgrade of the existing pavilion, along with the construction of a new, smaller pavilion between Ovals 2 and 3.
The Federal and State governments have pledged funds to support the redevelopment, depending on community feedback.
Key features of the proposed redevelopment include:
Upgrade to existing Pavilion (Main Building):
- Additional four gender-equitable player change rooms with improved access and amenities
- Larger, more functional meeting and storage spaces
- Modernised kitchen and servery facilities to support club and community events
- Expanded social area for over 100 people (double the current size)
New Pavilion (Between Ovals 2 and 3):
- Two gender-equitable player change rooms designed for shared community use
- Direct and convenient access to Oval 3
- Dedicated storage areas and a small social space overlooking the oval
- Male and female public amenities
These upgrades aim to improve accessibility, increase participation opportunities, and ensure Saltwater Reserve continues to meet the needs of local clubs, players, and the broader community.
Council welcomes your feedback, which will help inform the design and delivery of the project.
