Are you looking for a vibrant space to bring your ideas to life? Expressions of Interest for 2027 Regular Hire at Council-managed Community Centres are open from September 1 to September 30, 2026.
Council-managed Community Centres undertake an annual expression of interest process to enable community groups and activity providers to hire spaces to deliver regular programs, services and activities that reflect the diverse needs and interests of the local community and align with Council’s strategic objectives.
Whether you aim to host educational workshops, recreational classes, support groups, social or creative activities, our Community Centres offer the perfect setting to nurture connection and growth.
Expressions of interest are open from September 1 - September 30, 2026.
Why do people go to community entres?
Community Centres are welcoming spaces where people come together to:
- Connect with others
- Learn new skills
- Create and share ideas
- Celebrate culture and community
- Access support and services
Wyndham is one of the fastest growing and most diverse areas in Victoria. Nearly half of the people living here were born overseas, with many coming from India, the Philippines, China, New Zealand and England. Families, young people, seniors, and new residents use our centres. Each week, thousands of people visit Wyndham’s Community Centres to join programs, get support, or simply connect with others.
What programs can you run?
Wyndham Community Centres host many different programs. You can run:
- Dance and fitness classes
- Tutoring and homework clubs
- Art and craft workshops
- Language and cultural groups
- Health and wellbeing sessions
- Playgroups and youth activities
- Seniors social groups
Programs are for all ages — babies, children, young people, adults, senior residents. Every centre welcomes new ideas and supports activities that help people connect and grow.
How are applications assessed and prioritised?
To ensure Community Centres meet changing community needs, each centre identifies ‘Neighbourhood Priorities’ that are shaped by demographic and place-based service data, Council strategic priorities including Council Plan 2025-29, feedback from internal and external services, and centre users.
Expression of Interest Applications will be prioritised according to the eligibility criteria and the community centre Neighbourhood Priorities. Each community centre aims to provide a diverse mix of regular activities that meet the local needs. Wyndham’s Community Centre spaces are in high demand and not all applications will be successful.
Neighbourhood priorities and fact sheets are available at Centres and published on the Community Centre’s webpage. You can download a copy of the neighbourhood priorities from the below links.
If you are an activity provider, understanding the needs of your local community is essential. When your program aligns with local priorities, it will naturally attract participants and make a meaningful difference.
