How to submit private building surveyor documents

This article explains to submit Section 30 building permits and Section 80 notifications.

This only applies to private building surveyors.

If you are not a private building survey and you want to apply for a building permit, you need to contact us or appoint a private building surveyor.

Before you start

You will need:

your relevant documents and attachments
for a section 80, details of the builder
for a section 30, estimated cost of works and a credit card to pay the application fee.

Navigate to our private building surveyor submissions page.
Click on the button to submit your documents.
Sign in or create an account.
Complete the form fields and click on ‘next’.
At the ‘summary’ page, click on the button labelled ‘lodge’.
Complete the outstanding actions. This is where you upload your documents and provide the builder details.
Once the actions are complete, click on ‘Finalise and lodge’ or ‘Lodge and pay later’. This appears in the top left-hand corner on desktop, or at the bottom of a mobile phone or tablet screen.
For section 30 lodgement, proceed to your account to pay your invoice by credit card.

If you are using a mobile phone, tablet or small screen, you need to click on the menu item ‘Actions Required’ to see the actions.
When you are completing the action to supply builder’s details, select the button labelled ‘New Name’.
