All Council, Planning Committee & Contracts Approval Committee Meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held in the Council Chamber at the Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee, commencing at 6pm.

- Agendas for each meeting are generally available on Council’s website by 5pm on the Friday prior to the meeting date.

Please note that to ensure the safety of Councillors, staff and the community, an interim registration process has been introduced for Council Meetings to manage in-person attendance, commencing with the next Council Meeting on 26 May 2026. Registrations are not required for the livestream or website recordings for those who prefer to watch online.
Register to attend a Council Meeting
Council Meetings are open to the public and community members are welcome to attend in person or watch online.
To ensure the safety of Councillors, staff and the community an interim registration process has been introduced for Council Meetings to manage in-person attendance, commencing with the next Council Meeting on 26 May 2026.
To support a safe, respectful and orderly meeting environment, all members of the public attending in person are required to register their attendance.
Registrations must be submitted by 5pm on the Monday prior to the Council Meeting.
Presentation of Photo ID on arrival is required to confirm your registration details.
Registrations to attend the in-person Council Meeting on Tuesday 26 May 2026 have closed.
Council Meetings commence at 6pm with attendees encouraged to arrive at 5.30pm to avoid delays on entry.
Where there are safety threats or concerns, Council may introduce additional arrangements for a Council Meeting, including changes to attendance format, capacity limits and security arrangements. Registrations are not required for the livestream or website recordings for those who prefer to watch online.
Conditions of Entry
By attending a Council Meeting, members of the public are expected to comply with the standards of behaviour outlined below.
- Presentation of Photo ID is required on arrival to confirm your registration
- Treat Councillors, staff and other community members with respect
- Follow all directions from the Chair and authorised Council officers
- Remain seated unless invited to speak or asked to move
- Do not interrupt Councillors, speakers or Council officers
- Do not bring placards, signs, banners, props or other display material into the Chamber
- Do not film, photograph or record proceedings without permission
- Do not behave in a way that threatens the safety of others or disrupts the meeting.
The Chair may ask a person to leave the meeting if they disrupt proceedings, fail to follow directions or behave in a way that creates a safety concern. Any person directed to leave the Meeting must do so immediately.
Council Meeting Registration FAQs
Does registration mean people can’t attend Council Meetings?
No. Council Meetings remain open to the public. To ensure the safety of Councillors, staff and the community, registration has been introduced as an interim measure to help manage in-person attendance. Meetings will also continue to be livestreamed and recorded.
What if I cannot use the online form?
Please get in touch with us and we can assist you with registration, via mail@wyndham.vic.gov.au or 1300 023 411.
Can I bring a sign or placard into the Council Meeting?
No. Placards, signs, banners, props or other display material are not permitted in the Council Chamber.
Can I still ask a public question or make a submission?
Yes, to participate Public Question Time ensure that have submitted your question by 5pm on the day prior to the Council Meeting, via our online or printable form. If you have submitted a public question, you will still need to register your attendance.
What happens if there are safety concerns?

Council Meetings
At Council Meetings, Councillors will vote on recommendations included in the reports prepared by Council officers.
Public questions and petitions received in advance of the meeting in accordance with the Wyndham City Council Governance Rules may also be considered at Council meetings.
In accordance with the Governance Rules, public questions must be received by 5pm on the day prior to the Council meeting.
The person asking the question will need to be in attendance for the question to be read out and answered at the Council Meeting. If the question is read out and answered at the meeting, the response will be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
If the submitter is not present at the meeting the response will not be read out, and a written response will be provided to the submitter.

Planning Committee Meetings
The Planning Committee was established by Council as a delegated committee under Section 63 of the Local Government Act 2020. The Committee will assess and determine any applications for planning permits that are referred to it as the responsible authority under the Planning and Environment Act 1987, including hearing from submitters. The Committee may also consider and make recommendations to Council in respect of strategic planning issues.

Contracts Approval Committee Meetings
The Contracts Approval Committee was established by Council on 25 March 2025 as a delegated committee under Section 63 of the Local Government Act 2020.
The Committee will make decisions on Council contracts over the value of the Chief Executive Officer’s delegation (currently at $2,500,000 excl. GST) that form part of the Council budget, thereby expediting the contract approval process.
The Committee will meet on a fortnightly basis as required, or as agreed by the Committee from time to time.
Public notice and Committee meeting agendas will be published on Council’s website at least 3 days prior to the relevant Committee meeting.
