Are you ready to take your playwriting skills to the next level, and embark on the development of a full-length play?

The Wyndham Cultural Centre Theatre, in partnership with Melbourne Writers’ Theatre, is offering a free immersive dramaturgical program held in the City of Wyndham in 2026. The program provides an opportunity for up to 3 establishing playwrights to embark on a journey to develop and/or complete an existing brand-new full-length play, supported at every stage by an experienced dramaturg.

This program is perfect for writers who are ready to apply their playwriting skills to a longer project and have the discipline and motivation required for this. While applications from writers of all levels of experience will be considered, priority will be given to writers who can demonstrate, through their EOI, the capacity to write a full-length play (40 – 60 minutes) OR work towards the completion of a full-length play between 3rd May and 31st July.

Writers are required to submit ONE scene from their new play + a 250 word synopsis with their EOI.

The program is open to all writers aged 18+ who live, work or are connected to the City of Wyndham. We strongly encourage applications from writers of diverse cultural backgrounds, abilities, perspectives, and ages.
