You must register your cat or dog with Wyndham City Council once they reach three months old.
To register your pet, you will need:
- your pet’s microchip number or certificate
- a desexing certificate from a qualified vet (or exemption documents if your pet is exempt from desexing)
- your concession card if you have one.
Cats must be desexed to be registered. Dogs do not need to be desexed, but you will get a discount on your registration if your dog is desexed. See Desexing your pet for more information.
Registration periods
All pet registrations renew on 10 April every year. Your first registration period will be from the date you first register to the following April.
If your cat or dog hasn’t been registered in Wyndham City before, your first registration period may be free.
Your pet will not be eligible for a free registration period if:
- it has been registered with Wyndham City Council before
- it has been involved in an attack
- it has been involved in an enforcement action or prosecution
- it is a dangerous or menacing dog
- it is a restricted breed dog.
Renew your pet’s registration
You will receive a registration renewal notice by post or email around four weeks before 10 April each year. You will need to pay your registration before this date.
If you would prefer to have your registration renewal notice sent to you by email, you can update your preferences through your EzyBill account.
See your registration notice for more ways to pay.
Let us know if you have moved or if your pet is no longer with you by filling in the Change of details form.
