Renew or change your health or beauty business permit

Renewing your registration

If you have a medium- or high-risk health or beauty business, you will need to renew your registration every year.

We will send you a notice of your registration renewal about six weeks before the due date. If you do not pay by the due date, you may be charged a late fee.

Renew business registration

Low-risk businesses do not need to renew their registration.

Renewal inspections

Your renewal will be issued once you have paid your renewal fee and passed your renewal inspection.

If you do not pass the inspection and fail to fix the issues we identified, you could be charged an extra fee.

Changes to your business that may affect your registration

Changes to your business activities

If your business expands to include new activities, you may need to change your registration.

For example, if you are a hairdresser who has expanded to include manicures and pedicures, your business will go from being low risk to medium risk.

To change your registration, you will need to request an inspection and pay the fee.

Changes to your premises

If you are planning on renovating or changing the structure of your premises, you will need to have the changes inspected.

We suggest you talk to our environmental health officers before you begin making changes, as they will be able to help you make sure your changes are suitable.

Once you have completed your update, you will need to submit a request for an inspection.
