Wyndham City Council invites tender submission(s) from suitably qualified and experienced contractors is to undertake the demolition and construction of the new Soldiers Reserve Pavilion in Werribee.
The existing pavilion was constructed in the 1970s and subject to only minor upgrades, and no longer meets contemporary standards for accessible, inclusive and female-friendly sporting facilities.
This public tender will involve the demolition of the existing pavilion and construction of a new purpose-built two-storey facility, including four change rooms, amenities, umpire rooms, first aid facilities, kiosk, storage, DDA-compliant public toilet, lift, and the upgrade of services with a covered spectator veranda.
The redevelopment will deliver a modern, multi-use, safe and accessible facility for the Werribee Districts Football Club, Werribee Cricket Club and Werribee Junior Cricket Club, while supporting increased participation by female and junior athletes and providing opportunities for the broader community use.
The wider Soldiers Reserve will remain publicly accessible throughout the works. Contractors will therefore be required to demonstrate a strong track record in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE), including successfully delivering demolition and construction works within a live, publicly accessible environment, while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site management.
The project will deliver a contemporary sporting and community facility that strengthens accessibility, inclusion, participation and community connection at Soldiers Reserve, with a strong focus on building sustainability and long-term operational performance.
All relevant planning considerations, investigations and approvals have been undertaken and are included within the Tender package, as project attachments for information purposes, including geotechnical advice, town planning and Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) advice.
The project scope of works will also require an electrical infrastructure upgrade, to cater for the establishment of a future EV Charging station, the Head Contractor will be responsible for obtaining and submitting for approval all permits, approvals and statutory requirements applicable to the demolition of the existing single story and construction of the new two-story pavilion.
