Apply to exhibit with us at light boxes across three locations in Wyndham. Council invites three artists or artist collectives to produce artwork for exhibition on light boxes on the façade of Point Cook Library, Manor Lakes Library and Arndell Park Community Centre. The selected artwork will be exhibited from June 2026 for approximately one year.
Project Background
Wyndham City Council is inviting expressions of interest from artists to create new work for four light boxes. A $6,000 AUD (ex GST) commission and licensing fee is provided to each successful Artist. Artists will only need to submit the work in its digital format. Council undertakes printing and installation. The exhibition will be for approximately twelve months. Project Objectives

To present visually engaging artworks in the built environment of library, community centre, kindergarten, etc.

To represent and engage with the diverse local community, reflecting the history, community, and unique qualities of the local area

The selection panel will shortlist three Artists for the project, appointing one Artist to each site.

Responsibilities of successful applicants
Provide final artwork based on specifications outlined in the artist brief
Liaise with Council on key project and concept development
- The artwork will need to be completed by the 25th of May 2026
Selection criteria
Artistic merit
- Originality and novelty of artworks or concepts.
Locality
- Artist has a strong connection with Wyndham or Melbourne’s west.
- The proposed concepts or artworks speak to the local community of Point Cook, Truganina, Manor Lakes, or the broader experience of Wyndham in general.
Impact
- Engagement with contemporary issues including social, cultural, environmental, etc.
- Potential to stimulate meaningful conversations.
- Visual experience it can bring and suitability for light box flat printed surface and other physical contexts
