Join founder and designer of umbrellus, Aliet Bior for a hands-on workshop exploring the creative potential of regenerative materials through mycelium and hemp substrate.
In this tactile and reflective session, participants will create their own sculptural coaster forms while discovering how natural materials and living systems can be used to reimagine the way we design and make everyday objects. Through guided making and conversation, Aliet will introduce the fundamentals of biomaterials, circular design, and sustainable creative practices, sharing insights from her own journey as a designer working with innovative, environmentally conscious materials.
Using a blend of agricultural waste and mycelium, participants will gain firsthand experience of this emerging material while exploring its potential for art, design, and environmental innovation. Along the way, the workshop invites discussion about sustainability, resourcefulness, and the role creativity can play in shaping a more regenerative future.
Designed to be welcoming, hands-on, and inspiring, this workshop encourages curiosity, experimentation, and meaningful conversation in a relaxed environment.
No prior experience is required. All materials are provided, and participants will leave with their own unique sculptural piece and a deeper understanding of regenerative design.
