Play with Clay is a creative, hands-on workshop led by artist and sculptor Sasha Heath from hellotomato.

In this workshop, participants will be guided through a series of playful hand-building techniques that explore experimentation and storytelling using oil-based clay. Designed for all skill levels, the workshop invites people to take a moment to slow down, get curious, and create in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Drawing on Sasha’s practice in public art and sculpture, where she creates large-scale works that explore storytelling, urban environments, and our connection to nature, Play with Clay offers a chance to connect with this mess free material and discover the joy of making with your hands. Participants will experiment with different forms, developing their own small sculptural pieces, and learn simple techniques to bring character and personality to their own work.

No experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play!

All materials provided.

About the artist:

Sasha Heath, also known as hellotomato, is a Wyndham-based artist specialising in large-scale murals and hand-built sculptures. Her practice is rooted in illustrative storytelling and often explores the balance between urban life and wildlife habitats, inviting audiences to see their surroundings a little differently.

With over a decade of experience working across Australia, Sasha has collaborated with councils, communities, and organisations to create site-responsive public artworks that engage people of all ages. Her work frequently features native flora and fauna, local elements and whimsical details, developed through site-responsive research and community consultation.

Through workshops such as Play with Clay, Sasha shares her process and encourages participants to experiment, build confidence, and connect with materials in playful and meaningful ways.

This is an Adults only workshop.
