Join local gardener Craig Castree for an inspiring and practical workshop on growing your own fresh food at home. With years of experience gardening in Melbourne's west, Craig will share simple, seasonal tips to help you successfully grow fruit, vegetables and herbs, no matter the size of your garden or outdoor space.

Craig will also explore the importance of supporting sustainable local food systems, including the benefits of buying fresh, seasonal produce from local growers and markets. Discover how growing some of your own food, alongside choosing locally produced food, can reduce your environmental impact, support local farmers, and provide healthier, fresher food for you and your family.

Whether you're just getting started or looking to expand your edible garden, you'll leave with practical advice, inspiration and simple steps to help you grow, shop and eat more sustainably.

Craig Castree is an award-winning Horticulturist of 45 years’ experience at growing his own food organically and creating edible gardens. A published author of six books, Craig has dedicated his life to helping others live more self-sufficient, sustainable lives, starting right in their own backyards.

This event will be held at The Community Grocer market at Wyndham Park Community Centre, which will be running from 8.30 to 12.30 every Tuesday, and welcomes everyone to pop into the market before or after the workshop.

This event is funded by VicHealth as part of the Connecting Local Food to Families project, and a collaboration with The Community Grocer, Wyndham Park Community Centre, Western Public Health Unit and Wyndham City Council.
