The race finishes at Penrose Place, 42 Wickford Road, Tarneit. The 'After Party' at Penrose Place is an post-race celebration open to the public with local community stalls, food trucks and more. The 'After Party' is a public event and will run from 11am-1pm.

What is the Tarneit Amazing Race?
The Tarneit Amazing Race is a family-friendly, challenge-based event where participants work as a team to complete activities, solve clues and travel between locations to earn points. The aim is to gain as many points as possible while enjoying a fun and inclusive community experience.
When is the event taking place?
The event will be held on Saturday 28 February 2026, with activities occurring during the morning. We expect the challenge to take 1 hour – 1.5 hours.
Where does the event start and finish?
- Start location: Dianella Community Centre, 6 Congo Drive, Tarneit
- Race start time: 9:00am. Participants are asked to arrive from 8am.
- Finish location: Penrose Place, 42 Wickford Road, Tarneit
How does the Amazing Race work?
Participants will travel on foot between challenge locations. Teams may stroll, walk or run at their own pace. Challenges may involve solving clues, participating in an activity, or reaching a destination. All challenges are designed to be accessible for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Who can participate?
The event is open to all ages and abilities. Families, friends and community members are encouraged to form teams and take part. Children 17 and under need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Is the event accessible?
The event will take place throughout Tarneit on pedestrian pathways and public parks which are accessible. Participants can move at their own pace, and activities are suitable for a range of abilities. If you have specific requirements, please reach out, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Challenges can be modified to suit all abilities.
Will there be any disruption to the area?
Residents may notice increased pedestrian activity and general event-related movement during the morning. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption, and we thank residents for their understanding and cooperation.
Will there be traffic management in place?
Yes. Traffic Management Personnel will be assisting participants crossing Sayers Road (between Davis Road and Tarneit Road) from 9:30am to 10:30am on Saturday 28 February.
How do the teams work?
- Teams are made up of 2 to 6 people.

Do I need to book?
Yes. The cost to participate is $20 per adult, $10 for children 17 and under. Children under 5 are free.
Team discounts apply if you register with a group of two or more. If you are registering a group of 4-6, select multiple double passes.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are not permitted to participate in the Amazing Race, however attendees can bring dogs to the post-race celebrations Penrose Place if they are on a lead and always supervised by their owner.
Will there be food available for purchase?
There will be coffee and snacks available for purchase at both the starting line and finish line celebrations (and at one of the pit stops along the way!).
What happens after the race?
A post-race celebration will be held at Penrose Place from 10:30am to 1:00pm. This will include local community stalls, food trucks and activities.
Can residents attend if they are not participating in the race?
Yes. The post-race celebration at Penrose Place is a public event, with local community stalls, food trucks and more, and residents are welcome to attend even if they are not participating in the activity.
Is there a return bus to Dianella Community Centre?
If there is enough demand to fill a return bus we can organise a bus from Penrose Place to Dianella at 1pm. Please select a return bus ticket per person (including children of all ages) when you register and you’ll be provided with an update.
What’s the weather plan?
Please come prepared for all weather. If we determine the weather is extreme the event may be cancelled for safety. We will endeavour to communicate any cancellation via Wyndham City’s social media pages.
What should I bring?
We recommend you bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and sun protective clothing. Sunscreen will be available at the starting line.
