If you have a pool or spa on your property, it is your responsibility to make sure it is safe for everyone. It only takes 20 seconds for a child to drown in a swimming pool or spa.
In order to meet the requirements of the Building Regulations 2018, any pool or spa that is deeper than 30cm must:
- be surrounded by a suitable fence or barrier that complies with the applicable Australian standards, with a gate that is in full working order
- be registered within 30 days of completion
- be inspected every four years.
