Discover the joy of Ballet
Dance for Seniors is an inclusive ballet class designed to provide a gentle, structured, and enjoyable dance experience.
Exercises follow the barre and centre format of a traditional ballet class and include references to the music and productions of The Australian Ballet.
The classes are designed to build strength and mobility, improve balance, and increase hand-eye coordination, memory and musicality.
The program’s inclusive design ensures there are options for everyone aged 60 years and older, regardless of ability or experience, including options for sitting, standing or dancing with support.
The class will be taught by The Australian Ballet’s Education and Outreach team.
Workshops are suitable for adults aged 60 years and older
Duration: 75 minutes
Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely and bring a drink bottle.
Workshops will be held in the Green Room at Wyndham Cultural Centre. This can be accessed via the stage door on Synnot Street.
