Register your business on FoodTrader

You will need to apply for registration for your food truck, market stall, vending machine or temporary food premises on the FoodTrader website.

You will need to give:

  • details of your premises, whether mobile or temporary
  • descriptions of the kinds of food prepared and sold at your premises.

Register with FoodTrader

Your registration requirements will depend on what class your food business is. To learn more about the different classes of food businesses, see the Department of Health website.

If you are registering a food truck or a vending machine, we will need to inspect your premises to make sure it complies with food safety laws. See our Design and construction guidelines for mobile food vehicles for information on how your food truck should be fitted out.

Locations on council land

There are several areas on council land where you can park your food truck without needing a planning permit. Each location can have up to two food trucks at any one time.

To trade at one of these locations, you will need:

  • a permit to trade on council land stating the date and time you intend to trade
  • a Statement of Trade

You will only be issued a permit if there is room for your food truck at that location at the time you have selected, and there are no other food trucks at the location offering the same kinds of food.

Your truck must be parked. You cannot roam around the location.

The locations are:

  • Baden Powell Reserve, Tarneit
  • Central Park, Hoppers Crossing
  • Grand Vista Park (Safari Park), Wyndham Vale
  • Presidents Park, Werribee
  • Riverwalk Park, Werribee
  • Webster Street Park, Point Cook.
