United Energy Around the Bay is Melbourne’s biggest and most popular cycling participation event. Sunday 18 October will mark the 32nd running of this iconic event, which fully supports participants on their ride around Melbourne's picturesque Port Phillip Bay. Riders have the choice of 5 alternate ride distances the Family Ride, 50km, 100km, 135km or ‘The Classic’ (220km).

These routes take in some of Melbourne’s most iconic scenery and include highlights such as the West Gate Bridge, Beach Road and St-Kilda foreshore, Arthurs Seat, The Esplanade in Mt Martha as well as Albert Park. In 2025, four of the five rider routes start and finish in Albert Park, with the picturesque backdrop of the city skyline. The only ride not starting in Albert Park is the 135km route, which starts in Geelong.
