FIREFLY Night Market is back for 2025! Firefly Night Market will return to Penrose Place this spring with market stalls, live music, cultural performances and more.
With more than 70 market stalls to explore and a vibrant line up of entertainment to take to the stage, there is something for all ages.
Indulge in scrumptious bites and tasty treats from a selection of food trucks or escape the crowds and chill out in the chai tent with an aromatic cuppa.
So, book a date with the family, step into spring in style and come down to enjoy everything on offer while you support local.
Road Closures and Traffic Changes
To safely set up and run the Firefly Night Market, a temporary road closure and detours will be in place on Saturday 20 September:
- Wickford Road will be partially closed between Penrose Promenade and Tarneit Road from 1pm to 11pm.
- Bus Route 167 will be detoured during this time via Penrose Promenade, Ankuri Road and Tarneit Road.
- Drive-through access to El Jannah restaurant will remain open.
- Access to Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre car park via Wickford Road will be maintained outside of the event duration 4pm-9pm.
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
Traffic management will be in place to guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists safely through the area
Getting There and Parking
Live Local?
If you live close by, we encourage walking to the event. It’s amazing to have an event in your own backyard so take advantage of the proximity to you and walk from home.
Public Transport
The event is easy to get to by bus. The 167 Bus route will stop near the event via the detoured route and connects with Tarneit Train Station.
This bus also connects with Hoppers Crossing Train Station and goes via Werribee Plaza.

Car Parking
There is parking available on the street.
There is also parking in the following locations which are a 5 – 8 minute walk to the event site.

- Tarneit Central Kindergarten, Brinbrook St, Tarneit
Traffic management officers will be present on the night assisting with parking management.
Patrons are encouraged to park a short distance away and walk to the event.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available at Penrose Community Centre (outside the Ageing Well Facility) and Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre (outside Chemist Warehouse).
Drop Off/Pick Up Zone
There will be a designated drop off and pick up zone located on Penrose Promenade.

What is Firefly Night Market?
Firefly Night Market brings together local artisans, makers and performers for one huge night of entertainment and supporting local. There will be more than 70 market stalls, food trucks, light installations, cultural performances, fire shows, roving performers and more.
You’re encouraged to bring the family, catch up with friends and enjoy a vibrant night of entertainment while supporting local.
Is there an entry fee?
There is no entry fee and no bookings required. This is a free Wyndham City event.
How do I apply to be a stallholder?
Market stalls and food truck sites are now fully booked. If you would like to go on the waiting list please email tarneit@wyndham.vic.gov.au
What happens if it rains?
Weather will be monitored in the lead up and throughout the event.
If there is extreme weather forecast in the days leading up to the event, messaging will be placed on the Wyndham City website www.wyndham.vic.gov.au and the Wyndham City Facebook page to alert attendees that elements may be moved, postponed or cancelled.
Will there be food available for purchase?
Yes, there is a wide selection of food trucks on the night with savoury and sweet offerings including gluten free, halal and vegan options.
Do I need cash/card for purchases?
All market stalls and food trucks will have facilities for card payments.
What to bring?
Rug up and wear comfortable practical shoes. It may be a chilly night so layers and a rain jacket. The ground underneath can be uneven especially if there is rain prior, so practical footwear is highly recommended.
Is the event family friendly?
Yes, there is something on offer for all ages including kids’ activities and a parent’s room.
What measures can I take to ensure I’m quickly reunited with my child if we get separated?
Please make sure you supervise your children at all times. Ensure your children have your contact details. These could be on a wristband, sticker, lanyard, or even written on their arm. Just make sure it’s easy for your kids, or event staff, to contact you should they get lost.
Take a picture of your children before you leave the house. If you are separated from your child when you are out, the photo can be used to provide an accurate description of what your child looks like to event staff.
Point out the Information Marquee and event staff such as security and first aid personnel to your children so they know who to ask for help if they become separated from you.
If you become separated from your child, please notify staff or security personnel immediately.
Can I bring my dog?
For their comfort and confidence, we recommend people leave their dogs at home.
Whilst dogs are permitted in the park on a lead, we kindly ask that you consider the wellbeing of your pet before bringing them along. The event includes light installations, loud sounds from the stage and is expected to attract a large number of people. This kind of environment may be a lot for your dog to take in and we recommend keeping them at home in a comfortable and familiar environment.
Will there be additional toilet facilities on site?
Yes, additional toilets will be on site with one accessible toilet and a Parent’s Room. Toilets are also available at Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre.

Is the event accessible?
Penrose Place is accessible. However, it’s important to note the event is held in parkland and the ground can be quite uneven in places. Unassisted wheelchairs may struggle in wet weather.
There will be an accessible bathroom onsite.
There will be Auslan interpreters on the Main Stage.
We welcome visitors with assistance animals certified by a registered authority.

Is this event Sensory Friendly?
Yes, there is a low sensory space allocated – a Reset Room is available near Entry Gate B on Wickford Road.
We recommend coming early for lower intensity as the event tends to be quieter in the first hour.

STALLHOLDER CANCELLATION | Please notify Council ’s Market Manager at least 5 days prior to market day if you need to cancel your stall. If you cancel your stall before 9am Monday 15 September you will be refunded. | |
WEATHER CANCELLATION | In the event of bad weather, it is at the discretion of Council to cancel or postpone the market. If the market is cancelled or postponed, stallholders will be notified as soon as possible. |

Firefly Night MarketTerms and Conditions
By submitting an application for a stall at the the Firefly Night Market at Penrose Place from 4:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday 20 September 2025 (‘market’) you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions should be read in conjunction with other documents and information relating to the market, including your application form and the information made available on Council’s website.
Submission of an application does not guarantee a stall allocation. Successful applicants will be notified using the contact details provided in their application form.
- APPLICANTS
1.1Applicants must:
(a) be aged 18 years or above;
(b) hold a current active ABN; and
(c) live, work or study in, or otherwise have a connection to, Tarneit, or more broadly, Wyndham.
1.2 Council staff, Councillors, That’s Mine Events employees and their immediate families are ineligible to apply.
APPLICATIONS
2.1To apply to be a stallholder, you must submit a properly completed application form between 9:00am on 23 June 2025 and 5:00pm on 31 July 2025. Applications received outside of this period may not be accepted.
2.2 You agree to immediately notify Council of any changes to your application, including the request to withdraw your application, by emailing tarneit@wyndham.vic.gov.au.
2.3 Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, invalid or corrupt applications.ASSESSMENT OF APPLICATIONS
Applications will be assessed by Council officers and/or Council’s Market Manager in accordance with the Firefly Night Market Criteria.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
Council's Market Manager will contact successful applicants by email and advise them of their stall allocation, the products that they will be permitted to sell, and provide payment details for their site fees. Subject to the payment of their site fee, the stallholder’s stall allocation will be confirmed and they will be permitted to operate at the market.
HOURS OF OPERATION
5.1 Stallholders must arrive on site between 12:00pm -2:30pm on the market day to undergo an induction and to set up their stall. Stallholders will be notified of their exact arrival time prior to the market day. At the conclusion of the market, stallholders must pack down their stall and vacate the site by 9:45pm.
5.2 Stallholders must be present at their stall and ensure that their stall is operational at all times during the market.STALLS
6.1 Council will provide each stallholder with the equipment and furniture applicable to their site allocation (if any). Stallholders must bring any additional furniture, such as additional tables and chairs, and all styling equipment that they require to operate their stall. All electrical equipment must have a current test and tag certification in accordance with AS 3760. Any electrical equipment which has not been tested and tagged must not be used.
6.2 Vehicle access to the market site will be available during set up and pack down only.
6.3 Stallholders must keep their stalls clean, tidy, free from rubbish and other hazards and well presented at all times.
6.4 Stallholders are responsible for the removal and disposal of their rubbish and waste from the market. Stallholders must not use the public bins at the market to dispose of rubbish.
6.5 Stallholders must ensure that their stall does not exceed the boundaries of their designated stall area.
6.6 Stallholders must be courteous to members of the public, other stallholders and Council’s officers and contractors. Stallholders agree to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds Council’s values and reflects prevailing community standards.
PRODUCTS
7.1 Stallholders must ensure that their products comply with Council’s Single Use Plastic Policy.
7.2 Stallholders warrant that their products do not infringe a third party’s copyright or intellectual property rights.
7.3 Stallholders must ensure that they have sufficient product stock to sell at the market.
7.4 Stallholders acknowledge and agree that they should not leave their products unattended. Stallholders further acknowledge and agree that any products left unattended are left entirely at their own risk.
FOOD AND DRINK
8.1 Where the stallholder’s products include food and/or drinks, the stallholder must:
(a) be registered with Foodtrader (foodtrader..vic.gov.au) and must:
(i) provide their registration details with their application; and
(ii) lodge a Statement of Trade with Council on Foodtrader at least 5 days prior to the day of the market;
(b) provide a copy of their proposed menu with their application which clearly identifies the items that cater to dietary requirements or contain allergens;
(c) ensure their stall is equipped with:
(i) hand washing facilities including warm water, liquid soap and paper towels;
(ii) chemical sanitiser for cleaning all food contact surfaces, including equipment and utensils;
(iii) storage for all food products, including hot and cold storage to prevent contamination; and
(iv) digital probe thermometer for any cooked food or food stored under temperature control;
(d) where possible, use compostable or recyclable items to serve food and restrict the use of plastic and packaging to minimise waste.
8.2 Stallholders who have not registered with Foodtrader or submitted a Statement of Trade will not be permitted to operate at the market.SALES
9.1 Stallholders are entirely responsible for the sale of their products at their stall and must provide their own electronic payment system as required.
9.2 Stallholders must only sell the products specified in their application, or as otherwise advised by Council and/or Council’s Market Manager. Stallholders may only sell additional products with Council’s prior approval.
9.3 Council reserves the right to require that certain items or products be removed from sale and/or display.
9.4 Stallholders must not conduct any lotteries, raffles or competitions without obtaining Council’s prior written consent.
SIGNAGE
Stallholders must ensure that any signage displayed at their stall is not placed outside of their allocated stall area and is sufficiently weighted. Council and/or Council’s Market Manager reserve the right to remove any signage that is outside of a stallholder’s allocated stall area or is otherwise deemed inappropriate for display.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
11.1 Stallholders must comply with all laws, rules and regulations applicable to the stallholder, their stall and the market.11.2 Stallholders must notify Council officers and/or Council’s Market Manager of any incident, accident, injury or damage that occurs at its stall or at the market, as soon as is reasonably possible in the circumstances.
PROMOTION
12.1 You acknowledge and agree that Council may use the information provided in your application to create a stallholder profile about you and your products, to be published on Council’s website and social media pages for the purpose of promoting your stall at the market and/or the market generally.
12.2 Where you have provided details of your Facebook and/or Instagram account, you acknowledge and agree that Council may tag those account(s) in your stallholder profile and/or public posts on its social media pages in connection with your stall at the market and/or the market generally.
12.3 You warrant that the logo and/or photographs provided with your application (if any) do not infringe a third party’s copyright or intellectual property rights, and you grant Council a perpetual, irrevocable, transferable and royalty-free licence to use and publish your logo and/or photographs (in whole or in part) in any forum or format for the purpose of promoting your stall at the market and/or the market generally.
- PHOTOGRAPHY
Stallholders must not photograph, film, live stream or otherwise record their stall or the market without obtaining Council’s prior consent, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld.
INSURANCE
14.1 Stallholders must hold and maintain public liability insurance in a minimum sum of $10 million per single event and must provide a copy of their certificate of currency with their application and otherwise on Council’s request.
14.2 Stallholders who sell beauty products, bath products and/or toys must hold and maintain product liability insurance in a minimum sum of $10 million per single event and must provide a copy of their certificate of currency with their application and otherwise on Council’s request.14.3 Stallholders who do not provide Council with a copy of their certificate(s) of currency for the insurances referred to in clauses 14.1 and 14.2 will not be permitted to trade at the market.
14.4 Stallholders acknowledge and agree that they are responsible for insuring their own property and equipment (including products) and are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurances for their staff, volunteers and contractors.
DAMAGE AND THEFT
The stallholder is entirely responsible for any damage to or theft of its property resulting from or related to the use of its stall and the market. Stallholders acknowledge and agree that Council accepts no liability in this regard.
PRODUCT REPRESENTATIONS
Council accepts no liability for any representations made by the stallholder in relation to its products.
INDEMNITY
Stallholders release, hold harmless, indemnify and continue to indemnify Council, its Councillors, employees, agents and contractors against all claims arising in connection with a breach or purported breach of these terms and conditions, including, without limitation, any infringement or potential infringement of third party intellectual property rights.
NO RELATIONSHIP
Nothing in these terms and conditions or in the conduct of Council and the stallholder will create a relationship of agency, partnership, employer and employee or joint venture between the stallholder and Council.
NO REPRESENTATION
Council makes no representation as to the minimum level of sales or profitability the stallholder may enjoy during the market.
WITHDRAWAL AND CANCELLATION
20.1 Successful applicants may forfeit their stall by notifying Council’s Market Manager using the contact details provided by Council.
20.2 Stallholders must trade at the market regardless of the weather conditions unless Council deems it unsafe to do so and notifies the stallholder accordingly.
20.3 Council reserves the right to change the market’s trading hours (including closing the market entirely). If Council makes such a change or amendment, Council accepts no liability for any costs incurred by the stallholder in anticipation of the market.
BREACH
If Council becomes aware of a breach of any of these terms and conditions which, in the reasonable opinion of Council, is not capable of remedy, the stallholder will not be permitted to trade, or continue to trade, at the market.
GENERAL
22.1 Stallholders must follow all reasonable directions of Council’s officers and contractors in connection with their stall and/or the market.
22.2 Council reserves the right to change or modify these terms and conditions at any time.
