Thinking about applying for the Tapestry of Culture: Wearable Art & Fashion Incubator Program? Join us for an online information session before you submit your EOI.
Wunder Gym and Wyndham City Council invite artists and creatives interested in exploring culture, identity, storytelling and creative practice through wearable art and fashion to join us for an informal online Information & Q&A Session.
This session is an opportunity to find out more about the 21-week incubator program, what participants can expect, what is involved in developing a wearable artwork, and how the program will culminate in a runway showcase as part of the 2027 Melbourne Fashion Festival.
You’ll hear more about:
- What makes a wearable artwork and how it can extend beyond conventional fashion
- Who the program is designed for — you do not need to be a fashion designer or have sewing skills
- The creative development, experimentation and cultural exchange involved
- The program structure, key dates and expected commitment
- Guest artists, mentors, feedback and peer support
- The final runway outcome and opportunities for your work to be presented publicly
- The EOI process, selection and what makes a strong application
- What happens once you are selected
There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion, so you can make an informed decision about whether this opportunity is right for your practice and circumstances.
The program welcomes artists and creatives working across visual art, sculpture, textiles, performance, digital practice and other disciplines, and particularly encourages culturally diverse, emerging and underrepresented creatives to apply.
Participation in the program is free.
Come along, ask questions, meet the program team and get a clearer sense of the opportunity before submitting your EOI.
EOI closing date: 11:59pm, Monday 19 October 2026
