**The Importance of Waste Reduction, Worm Farming and Composting**

Waste reduction, worm farming, and composting are practical and effective ways for individuals and communities to reduce their environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future. Food and garden waste make up a significant portion of household rubbish that would otherwise be sent to landfill, where it produces harmful greenhouse gases such as methane.

A waste, worm farming, and composting session provides community members with the knowledge and skills to divert organic waste from landfill and transform it into valuable resources for gardens and green spaces. Participants learn simple, low-cost methods for reducing household waste, creating nutrient-rich compost, and using worm farms to recycle food scraps naturally.

These sessions also encourage environmental stewardship, sustainable living practices, and community awareness around waste management. By empowering residents to make small changes at home, the program helps reduce landfill waste, improve soil health, support local food production, and contribute to broader environmental and climate goals.

In addition to the environmental benefits, these sessions foster community connection by bringing people together to share knowledge, learn new skills, and participate in practical sustainability initiatives that can benefit households, community gardens, and the wider community.
