On 1 July 2016 the State and Federal Governments made changes to the way services for older people and those with a disability are funded and delivered. Previously services were funded under the Home and Community Care (HACC) program and managed by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Services for people over 65 (or over 50 for a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent) are now managed and funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health (DoH) under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). CHSP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is currently being rolled out across Australia and will be coming to Wyndham in late 2018. Wyndham City will continue to provide support to older residents and those with a disability under both the State and Commonwealth schemes as these changes are rolled out.

We will continue to keep you and your carers informed about the changes as they occur.
