Wyndham City Council is inviting expressions of interest from First Nations artists to develop a new public mural at the Wyndham Civic Centre, Werribee.
The project will create a significant First Nations artwork across four external wall panels at the Civic Centre, developed through a collaborative process with Wyndham City Council, Wyndham Reconciliation Action Committee (WRAC) representatives, and relevant Traditional Owner organisations. The artwork will explore ideas around Country, Culture, community, connection, and future generations.
What’s on offer?
- $7,500 artist fee per selected artist (2 artists to be commissioned)
- Professional support across consultation and specialist mural installation
- A highly visible public artwork across four panels of the side of the southwest Wyndham Civic Centre wall in Werribee
Who can apply?
First Nations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists with Ancestral connection to either Bunurong/Boonwurrung or Wadawurrung/Wathaurong Country or language groups are eligible to apply. Council's preferred outcome is to appoint one artist from each of these groups. Artists do not need to live in Wyndham or have previous mural installation experience to apply.
