Building a better road network for Wyndham

You may notice a camera-mounted vehicle driving slowly up and down your street over the coming months – and no, it’s not lost!

Between now and October, Wyndham City is carrying out a road condition assessment across the municipality that uses specialised camera technology to assess roads, footpaths, bridges and more to understand what maintenance and upgrades are needed.

This allows Council to capture detailed images of road surfaces without disrupting traffic or requiring road closures.

The assessment helps us plan for future road and footpath reconstructions, resurfacing, repairs and upgrades in line with our landmark Connecting Wyndham program, making sure we invest where it matters most.

Wyndham City’s Connecting Wyndham program is delivering real results for the community, with one major project already complete, three more critical upgrades underway and planning progressing on further key transport links across our City.

And there’s so much more to come, with $60.5 million proposed for road and footpath upgrades in Wyndham City’s Draft Annual Plan and Budget 2026/27.

By regularly assessing our road network, we can prioritise works more effectively, improve safety for all road users, and deliver smoother, more reliable journeys for our community.
