Have your say - New Riverwalk Community Precinct

Wyndham City invites feedback on exciting, proposed plans for the Riverwalk Community Precinct, Werribee.

Wyndham City Deputy Mayor, Cr Jasmine Hill said a new community precinct is proposed for 95 Geelong Road, Werribee.

“It will feature a community centre and an open space reserve, that will include a play space, dedicated youth space, fenced dog park, path network, lawn area and car parking, and we look forward to it becoming a valued community hub,” Cr Hill said.

Residents are invited to share feedback to:

  • Nominate naming themes and names for the $15 million community centre, that will include a kindergarten and Maternal and Child Health services
  • Nominate programs to be run from the community centre
  • Comment on the concept plan for the open space
  • Comment on the Riverwalk Community Precinct Plan, which includes these improvements and more
  • Comment on the proposed amendment to the existing Riverwalk Estate Development Plan (2022), that will implement aspects of the Riverwalk Community Precinct Plan.

Werribee Park Ward Councillor, Mia Shaw said construction of the community centre and open space is expected to begin in 2027. In addition to this project, design is currently underway for the District Avenue Reserve within Riverwalk, separate to this current consultation.

"What's exciting about this moment for Riverwalk is that residents can see two major community investments taking shape at the same time.”

"The Riverwalk Community Precinct centre will provide the early years, health, and community services families need day to day.”

"Development of the District Avenue Reserve will give people a place to be active and connected.”

“These community-building projects share the same purpose, making Riverwalk a place people are proud to call home," Cr Shaw said.
