Wyndham City Councillors last night elected Cr Preet Singh as the new Mayor and Cr Jasmine Hill as Deputy Mayor to serve the remainder of the 2025–26 Mayoral term through to November 2026.
Mayor Cr Preet Singh said it was an honour to be elected to serve the Wyndham community as Mayor for the first time.
“It is a great honour to have been elected as Mayor of Wyndham City, and I thank my fellow Councillors for their support,” Cr Singh said.
“As someone who has called Wyndham home for the past 20 years, I care deeply about this community and the opportunities ahead for our city.
“Wyndham is one of the fastest-growing communities in Australia, and our residents deserve investment that matches that growth in roads, rail, recreation, health, and community infrastructure.
“Our community wants a Council that works together, stays focused, and gets on with the job. I am committed to working collectively with my fellow Councillors so we can deliver for our residents and advocate strongly for Wyndham’s fair share.
“There is important work ahead, and I look forward to getting down to business for the community we serve.”
Cr Singh was first elected to Council in November 2024 and previously served as Deputy Mayor from November 2025.
Deputy Mayor Cr Jasmine Hill said she is committed to working constructively with the Mayor and Council to deliver meaningful outcomes for Wyndham.
Cr Hill previously served as Deputy Mayor from 2021 to 2022.
“I thank my colleagues on Council for their support and the trust placed in me,” Cr Hill said.
“My focus is on supporting sensible decisions, strengthening transparency, and working together in a way that genuinely benefits our community, including residents in Point Cook and across Wyndham.
“We have a real opportunity to move forward as a united Council and continue delivering on what matters most to local families.”
